The system is based on high accuracy laser and cameras detection units placed on the trackside. The system can detect the full profile of the shoegear and it is capable to determine its wear and position respect to the Top of Rail during the transition over the system. The measurement of the shoegear wear is performed by the elaboration of the profile obtained during the acquisition.
